Housing Ministry signs contract with MTCC for Funadhoo Road Construction Project

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has signed an agreement with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), for a MVR 46.5 million Road Construction Project in Shaviyani Funadhoo.

The contract was signed at a ceremony at Housing Ministry today, by Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr Mohamed Muizzu and CEO of MTCC Abdul Razzag.

The duration for the construction of 3.4 km roads, is 320 days.

Talking to reporters, Dr Muizzu said that construction is expected to begin in June 2015.

He said that discussions are ongoing with Ministry of Environment and Energy regarding completing the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) within one month, following which MTCC can commence construction.
