Tornado sighted near Mal

A tornado has been sighted near Malé.

An eyewitness told Sun Online that it was seen at around 9:00 a.m. in the sea off the “Track” area.

The sighting has been confirmed to Sun Online also by the Department of Meteorology. A Met Office official said that it was seen on the southwest side of Malé.

When asked, he said that and it is unclear if it will make landfall.

Three tornadoes were seen near Malé about one month ago. The Met Office assured every time then, that they were not powerful enough to cause damage.
