The Maldivians living in Nepal have returned to the Maldives late on Tuesday night.
The first flight, carrying 14 people, arrived via Colombo at 1:30 a.m.; and the second carrying 77 people arrived via Dhaka, at 3:30 a.m.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon and senior officials of the ministry were among those at the airport to welcome them.
Talking to reporters, Dunya thanked the Ministry of Tourism and the Indian government for their help in the efforts to bring the Maldivians home.
She said that Maldives will do everything possible to help Nepal during this difficult time.
The Maldivians who arrived from Nepal last night said that the people in Nepal were in need of medical supplies. They said that people were dying not due to shortage of healthcare professionals, but due to lack of equipment and medicine.
The group thanked Dunya and officials of the Foreign Ministry, for facilitating their return.
