President: Representing the government in discussions with Imran would be Adheeb

President Abdulla Yamin has said that the government is ready to hold talks with the oppositions and representing government in the talks with the leader of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdullah would the Vice President of PPM, Ahmed Adheeb.

The President said this after Sheikh Imran said that before the opposition demonstration “May-Day” on 1 May, Adheeb would be “thrown out”.

Speaking at a demonstration in Hulhumale’ last Wednesday, Sheikh Imran said to “throw out” Adheeb before the May-Day demonstrations and then the President would not be wise.

“When that day (May-Day) comes, if the President is wise, throw out Adheeb. This is the spirit of PPM. This is what the members of PPM’s Parliamentary group wants. This is what President Maumoon wants.” Sheikh Imran said.

Speaking at the inauguration of the resort development in Ismehela Hera at Addu tonight, President Yamin said that the government has no interest in the “May-Day” activities on 1 May.

The President said that in his meeting with Sheikh Imran, what the sheikh presented was not something he can bear. But President Yamin did not give any details of the terms at that meeting. He said that he would not bear a weight that could impede development.

Tonight, the President said that the members of Adhaalath Party has to work to put Imran on the right path and if the president of a party has strayed, the members has to right him.

Speaking about the Project at Ismehela Hera, President Yamin said that everything in the manifesto would go forward.

President Yamin also congratulated to the Hulhumeedhoo Councilor of Addu City Council, Ali Mohamed who signed to PPM. President said that it would not be easy to be on the opposition while servicing the people and bringing development.

President also said that some people are trying to create friction between the PPM government and the atolls but the truth is that the development is coming to the whole country.

“The work of this government is not do political things, but if something touches us, we will push it aside.” President Yamin said.
