Maldives to donate $50,000 to Nepal

The Maldivian government has decided to donate MVR 50,000 to those affected by the earthquake in Nepal.

This decision by President Abdulla Yameen has been confirmed to Sun Online by his Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali.

President Yameen sent a message of sympathy to Nepalese Prime Minister Sushil Koirala following the disaster on Saturday.

The death toll from the 7.8-magnitude quake is now 4,356, but Prime Minister Koirala has said that it could reach 10,000.
