Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed has said that 20,000 new jobs were created in the past 1.5 years.
Saeed made this remark at an event at Dharubaaruge on Sunday night, to launch corporate resident visa for foreign investors.
He said that the ministry has established a business incubator system under the name Enterprise Development, which has resulted in the creation of 20,000 new jobs.
The minister said that moreover, 94,000 jobs are guaranteed in the future in the fisheries, agriculture, and tourism sectors.
Saeed said that efforts were ongoing to attract tourism-related businesses to the country, including plans to establish an Open Ship Registry.
President Yameen’s economic policy will transform the country’s economic situation and make the Maldives the best country in the region for investors, said Saeed.
