Moosa Naseer, who lost in the PPM primaries, has said that he has not made a decision about running for the Dhiggaru constituency as an independent candidate.
Talking to Sun Media, the President of the Meemu atoll council, Moosa Naseer said that he would make a decision that would please the most citizens.
Regarding the acquisition of signatures to run as an independent candidate, Naseer said that is a work done by a group of youngsters.
“I have not a decision like that. What happened there was that a large number of youth from the constituency, regarding the results of the primaries, and the voting population is big. A population of more than 2555 people is in this constituency. So a lot of the youth believe that I don’t have to back down from a result of a vote among 430 people.” Moosa Naseer said.
Moosa Naseer lost the PPM primaries for the Dhiggaru constituents to Faris Maumoon. Faris won 289 votes and Moosa Naseer won 142 votes.
