A man from Kendhoo has been arrested in relation to the boat fires

Police have said that a man from Kendhoo in Baa. Atoll has been arrested in relation to the boat fires.

The man arrested was the 41-year-old Abdul Salaam Yousuf, of Kendhoo Morning House.

A Police media official said that a man has been arrested with a warrant in relation to the boat fires in early hours of morning last Thursday.

Boat owners say that the total loss would accumulate close to MVR 4.3 million. The burnt fiber boat alone is a loss of MVR 2.5 million. The loss to the 45 feet boat is MVR 780,000. And the owner of the fiberglass speedboat which was burnt in the fire says the damages would cost about a MVR 1 million.
