Chairperson of MDP, Ali Waheed has said that the opposition is not trying to topple over the Presidency of Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom and they are working to put an end to cruelty on “May-Day”.
Speaking at a function by the opposition in Thulhaadhoo last night, Ali Waheed said that while officials of the government are claiming that government cannot be toppled, the opposition are not trying to topple the government.
“Every now and then, “presidency cannot be toppled, presidency cannot be toppled.” Are we trying to topple the presidency? We’re not trying to topple the presidency. But we’ll stop cruelty. Topple over cruelty.” Waheed said.
Ali Waheed said that the opposition would bring the government to “size” and on May-Day, the government would have to go home.
Ali Waheed asked PPM to make “peace” with the President Yamin if he stays outside the constitution.
Speaking at a function in Hulhumale’ last week, Chairperson Waheed said that on the next Friday, the former president Mohamed Nasheed would go to Canaryge from the Himmafushi Prison.
At the ceremony held in Naifaru on Thursday night to open the new futsal pitches, the Tourism Minister, and the Vice President of PPM, Ahmed Adheeb said that date after date would pass by and nothing would happen on May-Day.
Minister said that while the opposition are like that, the government would develop, futsal pitches, harbors and airports.
