Audit Office, Transparency receive National Award of Integrity

The first National Award of Integrity has been awarded to the Auditor General’s Office and Transparency Maldives.

The award was presented to the two institutions by Attorney General Mohamed Anil, at a ceremony to mark Anti-Corruption Day in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi on Tuesday.

Speaking at the ceremony, Anil said that the purpose of the award was to encourage the efforts of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to prevent corruption.

Anil thanked the Auditor General’s Office and Transparency Maldives for their work.

Maldives Broadcasting Commission and Auditor General’s Office were nominated for the award under state institutions, and only Transparency Maldives under NGOs.

The award was also opened for individuals, but no one received enough points to warrant a nomination.
