STO opens pharmacy in Baarah

State Trading Organisation (STO) has opened a pharmacy in Haa Alifu Baarah, under the government's project to open pharmacies in all inhabited island across the country.

The pharmacy was inaugurated at a ceremony in Baarah today, by STO Managing Director Ahmed Shaheer.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shaheer said that STO will do everything possible in cooperation with the island council to ensure development for the island.

The pharmacy was constructed by Baarah MP Ibrahim Sujau, and handed over to STO.

Sujau has also promised to build pharmacies in the remaining islands that fall under Baarah constituency – Muraidhoo, Thakandhoo, and Utheem.

Also today, a ceremony was held to lay the foundation stone for a futsal ground, part of the Baarah Sports Arena. The foundation stone was laid by Shaheer and STO Senior General Manager Fathimath Ashan.
