Man sentenced to 10 years for possession

Criminal Court has sentenced a man arrested with drugs to 10 years in prison with a MVR 50,000 fine.

Abdul Sattar Mohamed, 46, was sentenced after he was found guilty of trafficking under the Drug Law.

In the verdict delivered by the Criminal Court on 8 April said that witness testimonies proves that 37.7235 grams of alprazolam found under his bed in his room at Maafaru Guest House in the search conducted in his presence at 7:30 p.m. on the night of 7 August 2014.
