Contracts signed for Nilandhoo, Inguraidhoo harbour construction

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has signed contracts with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for the construction of harbours in Faafu Nilandhoo and Raa Inguraidhoo.

The agreements were signed at a ceremony at Housing Ministry this morning, by Minister of Housing Dr Mohamed Muizzu and CEO of MTCC Abdul Razzag Haleem.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Muizzu said that the harbours will not only make travel easier, but also ensure economic development for the two islands.

The cost of the project in Nilandhoo is MVR 60.9 million, and Inguraidhoo MVR 42.6 million.

The expected dates of completion are 445 days and 300 days respectively.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nilandhoo MP Abdulla Khaleel said that the project will also solve the problem of lack of space in Nilandhoo.

Also at today’s ceremony, Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah thanked Housing Minister Dr Muizzu and President Abdulla Yameen for initiating the harbour project in Inguraidhoo.
