A fatal traffic collision occurred around midnight last night on Feydhoo Bodumagu, Addu City, where two people were seriously injured and one of them died shortly after.
Police Media official told Sun Media today that the two people involved in the collision were seriously injured and the 22-year-old among them died last night. He died while receiving treatment at the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital.
Police Media Official said that he suffered major head trauma and other injures all over his body.
The media official said that the other man, 20-years-old, is still receiving treatment at the Hithadhoo Regional and preparations are being made to bring him to Male’ City.
The collision took place when a speeding motorcycle on the road attempted to overtake a car, lost control and skid into a wall.
A minor has died in a traffic collision in Addu City in the past week as well. Since then, the Addu City Council has decided that helmets should be worn while driving motorcycles on all roads of the city.
