Tholhath sentenced to ten years in prison

Former Minister of Defence Tholhath Ibrahim Kaleyfaan has been convicted of terrorism, and sentenced to ten years in prison by Criminal Court.

In the verdict delivered tonight, the court said that it was proven in court by Tholhath’s statements and witness testimonies, that the arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed on 16 January 2012, was planned and executed by Tholhath.

He was sentenced under Articles 2b and 6b of the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
