Court to deliver verdict against Defence Minister Jaleel tonight

Criminal Court has scheduled the hearing for issuing the verdict against Minister of Defence Moosa Ali Jaleel for 10:00 p.m., in relation to the terrorism charges pressed by the state following the arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed in 2012.

Hearings for issuing the verdict against Jaleel have been scheduled twice before, and cancelled.

Jaleel held the post of Chief of Defence Force at the time of the judge’s arrest.

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has been sentenced to 13 years in prison in relation to the judge’s arrest.
