Annual budget for the Olympic Committee set for MVR 57 million

The annual budget for the Maldives Olympic Committee has been set for MVR 57 million this year.

According to the Olympic Committee, the vote for budget for the year 2015 was unanimous at the annual congress. The total budget is MVR 57,741,469.34.

Speaking to the press after the congress, the committee said that a large portion of the budget is set for the Olympic house and MVR 41 million has been set for the Olympic house this year. They said that the budget was divided to three parts.

A large portion from last year’s budget was also allocated for the Olympic house. An Olympic house was designed last year.

The Olympic Committee said that a specific type of area is required to build an Olympic house and when such an area is acquired, the construction would start within the year. The President has guaranteed a land for the Olympic house.

Olympic Committee also said that the most number of works was done by the committee last year and it was also the busiest.
