The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has said the shortest lunar eclipse would be visible today.
During this eclipse, named “Blood Moon”, the moon would in a foggy red according to NASA lasting only four minutes and 43 seconds, making it the shortest eclipse of the century.
The complete eclipse would be seen in western third of U.S. It would be most visible to Asia, Australia, America and the Pacific.
Reports say that the eclipse would be visible to the Maldives at 6:15 p.m.
This is the third eclipse in less than two years. And the fourth eclipse would take place on 28 September 2015.
NASA says that a Tetrad would be complete with the fourth eclipse. A Tetrad Series is name for extraordinary eclipses. NASA says that a similar Tetrad Series would take place in 2032.
According to NASA, the shortest lunar eclipse recorded was one minute 42 seconds in 1529.
