Changes brought to staff salaries of Gan Airport

Changes have been brought to the staff salaries of the Gan International Airport Pvt. Ltd.

According to press release by the Addu International Airport (AIA), although the service allowance and the basic salary is given separately, under the new salary system, both the service allowance and the basic salary would be combined.

The press release says that the with the added service allowance to the basic salary, the basic salary has been increased after paying the pension payment separately by the company.

In addition, a salary increment system has also been established and after discussing with the staff, no changes have been made to the shift allowance.

The new salary system, the benefits package to the employees has been increased and established an insurance package as well. Each employee would have coverage of MVR 120,000 under the new insurance package in Maldives and abroad.

With the amendment to the salary system, some staff of the airport has protested today saying that their service allowance has been removed. According to AIA, the service allowance have not been removed, but simply combined with the basic salary.
