State Minister of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed Didi of Adhaalath Party has resigned from his position.
Speaking at a press conference at the office of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Didi said that he decided not to work at government post the moment Adhaalath Party withdrew their support from the government. But since he was abroad at the time, he resigns now.
Sheikh Didi said he was not asked to resign from the government or Adhaalath Party.
Explaining his resignation, Sheikh Didi said that Adhaalath Party made President Yamin to power with hope and all of Adhaalath Party was working with those hopes and dreams. But those dreams have been lost and we see political leaders disappearing.
The Sheikh said that Adaalath Party worked very hard the moment the justice system was started to be questioned by the people and Party has been unsuccessful in correcting that.
Sheikh said that the trial against the former Defence Minister Nazim is not believable and he was “framed.”
Responding to question from a journalist about the trial of the former president Mohamed Nasheed, Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that he would not comment directly at the trial.
Deputy Minister of the Gender Ministry, Sidhaathaa Shareef, also a member of Adhaalath Party also has resigned out of respect for the Party who has severed ties with the government coalition.
