MDP has been fined with MVR 47,000 and Adhaalath with MVR 33,000

Elections Commission has fined MDP with MVR 47,000 and Adhaalath Party with MVR 33,000 to be paid in the next seven days.

A press release issued by the Elections Commission says the two parties were fined for the violation of the law of political parties and the law of peaceful protest by attacking the police, vandalizing property and for calling for violence.

The press release says that the Elections Commission may have to take further if the violations persist.

Steps were taken against the two parties after warning them earlier today.
