Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has called for fair trials, free of influence, for former President Mohamed Nasheed and former Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim.
In a series of tweets today, Dr Shaheem said, “President Nasheed and Colonel Nazim should receive justice through the court system, free of influence, as deserved. In a just manner.”

He further said, “The government should not interfere with cases that are being processed by the courts. It is their [courts’] duty to deliver fair verdicts.”

He also urged everyone to respect and obey just verdicts issued by courts even though they may not agree with them.
