Adheeb: We will win the 2018 Presidential Election in one round

Vice president of PPM and the Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Adheeb has said they will win the 2018 Presidential Election in one round.

Speaking at the press conference after the government victory in the by-elections today, Minister Adheeb said that with the efforts put in by the government coalition now; President Yamin is guaranteed to win the 2018 Presidential Election in one round.

Adheeb said that the victory in the by-elections show the success of this government. The government coalition which now contains PPM and MDA has won six of the eight by-elections held after the latest Presidential Election.

The Meedhoo Atoll Council by-election held today was won by the MDA with 997 votes. And the Muraidhoo Council by-election was won by PPM candidate with 208 votes.

Minister Adheeb praised the only party in coalition with the government now, MDA.

Adheeb also criticized the ongoing MDP protests in Male’.

“Protesting on the street is not how you produce results. It’s not how one even can produce results. And it’s not good for the people either.” Adheeb said.

The secretary general of MDA, Ismail Saeed who took part in press conference at the PPM office today said that MDA has won the three by-elections they have participated in. And the support for the party is growing.

MP for the Baarah constituency, Ibrahim Sujaau, who also took part in the press conference today, said the victories in the by-elections prove the success of the current government.
