A man arrested for the attempted murder of a police officer

A man has been arrested for the attempted murder of a police officer.

Police Media Official told Sun Media today that a man has been arrested yesterday for attempted murder of a police officer under a court order. The man arrested was Adam Ziyad, 32.

The media official said that Adam Ziyad was arrested last night while following a police intelligence source about the an attempted murder of a police officer in the MDP protest rally. The Criminal Court has added 15 days to keep him under police custody.

Opposition MDP has been holding serial protest rallies in the streets of Male’ city against the prison sentence passed down to of the former president Mohamed Nasheed who was sentence on the 13 March.
