The former Defense Minister Colonel-retired Mohamed Nazim, who is on trial for import and possession of a firearm, has requested permission from the court to leave the country to attend his medical condition.
Nazim’s lawyers requested the permission to leave the country saying that Nazim’s doctors have advised to go abroad in consideration of his health.
The lawyers said that the doctor’s reports say that Nazim has an infectious disease and advises to go abroad for further diagnostics.
The judges said that a decision would be made when the medical documents are submitted.
Nazim was changed to house arrest yesterday when his lawyers requested the transfer due to Nazim’s medical condition.
When the judges asked Nazim about his medical condition in yesterday’s hearing, Nazim said he does not want to publicize his medical condition in the media.
