Today’s parliament sitting is under way as usual amid chaos, as MPs continue to protest and engage in taking photos and videos of the activities.
MPs of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) are protesting, and the activities are being caught on camera by pro-government MPs.
At the same time, MDP members are sharing photos and videos on social media of pro-government members trying to proceed with the debate.
MPs seem to be using even more megaphones today, than previous days.
Items on today’s agenda include debate on an amendment to the Constitution submitted by Kudahuvadhoo MP Ahmed Amir, voting on approval for Ahmed Saleem as Ambassador to Pakistan, and voting on approval for Ahmed Akram as a member of the Elections Commission.
MDP members have protested at every parliament sitting this year, calling for former President Mohamed Nasheed’s release.
