Parliament adjourned following opposition protest

The parliament has been adjourned after it was obstructed by members of opposition party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

As soon as the meeting was opened at 9:00 a.m. by the Speaker, MPs of MDP began protesting and calling for the release of former President Mohamed Nasheed.

The party also obstructed and brought to halt two sittings last week.
