Man suspected of carrying a bomb has been released

The 42 year-old man arrest yesterday evening at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) under suspicions of carrying an explosive device has been released.

A police media official told Sun Media today that he man arrested yesterday was released because the police saw no cause to keep the man in their custody while they continue the investigation. The media official confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

The Information Officer of MNDF Adnaan Mohamed told Sun Media last night that a man at the departure terminal told an Airport Officer that he was carrying explosives. And the Airport Officer reported to MNDF.

“We searched him immediately in the terminal. But since he didn’t have anything like that, we handed him to the Police.” Adnaan said
