Lufthansa Airlines starting direct flights to the Maldives in December

CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, Carl Ulrich Garnadt says that Lufthansa will have direct flights to the Maldives from Germany starting this December.

Speaking in at a Lufthansa press conference at the IBT fair in Berlin, the airline’s CEO said they will have two flights a week to the Maldives.

Mr. Garnadt says that Lufthansa would be using a plane of 1200 capacity in these flights. Lufthansa is the biggest airline in Germany.

An official from MMPRS said the number of German tourists to the Maldives would increase with the Lufthansa flights.

Germany is the biggest market for European tourists to the Maldives. Last year alone, over 5000 German tourists visited the Maldives.
