MDP responds to Police

MDP says the MDP-JP rallies in the City Council area are not to disturb the security forces.

Speaking on Raaje TV, the chairperson of MDP Ali Waheed said that there are illegal places to hold a rally allocated by the law. And the rallies are held in front of the City Council are to obey the law. He said that it’s not acceptable to stop the protest somewhere it is allowed.

“MDP is the party who got the people the freedom of demonstration. Now we’re seeing the unification of the three branches of the power. But may I say, MDP will have peaceful rallies in Male’ and in all of Maldives. We won’t go home when the government says something while they are doing whatever they want to the leader of our party (former president Mohamed Nasheed).”Ali Waheed said.
