MDP and JP have said the Home Minister has assured that he will share their concerns with the president.
Speaking at the news conference after their meeting with the Home Minister Umar Naseer today, the leader of the Jumhooree Party Qasim Ibrahim said that a solution to the country has been proposed to the minister. And the minister has guaranteed the delivery of that proposal to the president.
Qasim says that MDP-JP does not have the opportunity to meet the president.
Chairperson of MDP Ali Waheed said that concerns from them have been discussed and the minister has been told that the opposition is ready to listen to the government on how to improve the relationship with the government.
“The intensity of the current political state was discussed.” Ali Waheed said. “We hope to get a reply after their discussions.”
Ali Waheed said that their protests will continue as long as a solution isn’t found.
When inquired about the details of the meeting by the media, no details were given saying “don’t want to talk through the media.”
When inquired with the Minister Umar Naseer, he said he didn’t want to comment.
MDP and JP have now decided to hold meetings with the former Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim and the former president Mohamed Nasheed, political prisoners and other related authorities.
