A citizen of Pakistan arrested for smuggling

A Pakistani citizen has been arrest in an attempt to mule drugs into the country.

Maldives Customs said the attempt was made by a passenger from the SriLankan flight to the country on Sunday.

A 69 year-old Pakistani citizen was arrested in the case.

According to customs said the man was arrested after confirming he had hidden d inside his body at the hospital under suspicions arose in his questioning by the customs officers. He had hidden the drugs in his colon.

Customs said the drugs inside the man has been taken and tested positive for heroin. A total of 50 grams was confiscated by the Maldives Customs Service.
