PPM: Mahloof is still a member

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) say the MP for the Galholhu South constituency Ahmed Mahloof (Mahey) is still a member of the party and has not severed ties with them.

Moments ago, high official of PPM confirmed saying, “Mahey is still a member of PPM. He has not sent in a letter to leave the party.”

According to sources, Mahloof has discussed crossing the floor with the higher officials of the party. And he has not been seen in the recent PPM events.

However, unconfirmed reports are saying Mahloof has already signed Jumhooree Party (JP). And will be officially announced the JP/MDP ceremony on the 27 February.

While rumors of Mahloof’s defection is already circulating, his wife, Nazra Naseem is a sibling of JP parliamentary member and close friend of the JP leader, Faisal Naseem.
