MP Mohamed Hussain, MP Muaz join PPM

Parliament Members of Jumhooree Party (JP) Mohamed Hussain and Muaz Mohamed Rasheed have joined Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

This was announced in the meeting being held at Alimas Carnival by PPM and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).

Mohamed Hussain, who has been an MP for six consecutive terms, was elected to Kan’ditheemu constituency.

Muaz, who joined JP last year, was elected to Madaveli constituency as an independent candidate.

Number of PPM MPs have reached to 46 with Muaz and Mohamed Hussain, and with five MPs of MDA, MPs of government coalition have reached to 51.

Number of MPs of JP have decreased to 10 when Mohamed Husain and Muaz left JP. Number of Parliamentary members of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is 22.
