Arnoud Van Doorn arrives in Maldives

Netherlands’ film producer Arnoud Van Doorn who accepted Islam after producing a movie insulting Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) has arrived in Maldives.

Arnoud has arrived in Maldives upon an invitation from Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed to deliver a sermon on why he had converted into Islam.

He was welcomed by the Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Ambassador at Large Abdulla Hameed and some officials of Islamic Ministry at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

Protests in many Islamic countries were held regarding the movie produced by Arnoud that insulted Prophet Mohamed (PBUH). The movie attempted to demonstrate that the Qur'an motivates its followers to hate all who violate Islamic teachings.

However, Arnoud, after performing Hajj pilgrimage in 2013, had announced him being converted to Islam and had expressed disappointment for having involved in producing the movie.

Arnoud will deliver sermon at Alimas Carnival on Friday night under “The Message”; program organized by Islamic Ministry to provide religious information.
