Ghiyaasuddin International School elects students for senior posts through online voting

Students have been elected for senior posts of Ghiyaasuddin International School by using online voting systems.

In the election held at school hall on Wednesday, students had to vote by filling a form, which contained photographs of candidates online. Voting data such as tentative results, number and percentage of students voted and not voted were being updated and shown on a screen as voting was done by the students.

This is the first time a school of Maldives has used online voting system.

Key Activity Coordinator of Ghiyaasuddin International School Fathimath Muna said that election, in which students of grade seven and above voted, was held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday morning.

In that regard, 506 students had voted on Wednesday for the 24 posts for which 55 students have applied, said Muna.

She added that names of the students who have been elected for the posts have been announced and oath taking ceremony will be held in next week.

A total of 865 students from grade 1 to 10 study in Ghiyaasuddin International School this year.
