Staff of Gender Ministry suspended after Ibthihaal

A staff of Gender Ministry in connection with the death of Ibthihaal, has been suspended.

An official of Gender Ministry on Thursday evening said to Sun Online that the staff was suspended from the time investigation of the case was started. The official noted that the staff has been suspended because the case is under investigation and report of that case will be completed by next Sunday.

The official did not unveil the name of the staff under suspension but told that all the details will be shared on Sunday.

Afiya Mohamed, mother of the three year old boy Ibthihaal has been arrested over the death of Ibthihaal Mohamed, due to suspected abuse.

Acting Minister of Law and Gender, Attorney General Mohamed Anil said that Ibthihaal was not living with his mother but with a relative of the mother when ministry officials visited the island for the investigation.
