Efforts begin to rescue dolphins from Nadella lagoon

Efforts are under way to move dolphins stuck in the shallow water near Gaafu Dhaalu Nadella to deeper water.

President of Nadella Council Faisal Najeeb said that the work began this morning on two dinghies, by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and members of the public.

He said that there are about 40 dolphins stuck in the lagoon, and about four have already died.

Many dolphins have been rescued and taken to deeper water, said Faisal.
