Four state institutions have shared information regarding the death of three-year-old Mohamed Ibthihaal due to suspected abuse in Vaavu Rakeedhoo to the Parliament Committee on Oversight of the Government.
Spokesperson of the Committee, Vilufushi MP Riyaz Rasheed said to Sun Online on Wednesday evening that all four institutions have provided information to the Committee as requested and the second meeting regarding Ibthihaal’s case will be held on Thursday 9:00 a.m.
At the meeting conducted on first of this month, Committee had decided to get information from Rakeedhoo Council, Ministry of Law and Gender, Family and Child Protection Unit, and Maldives Police Service. It was also decided to summon the required institutions to the committee, if further information is needed.
Court has given 15 days of detention for Afiya Mohamed, the mother Ibthihaalwho died due to suspected abuse.
Ibthihaal is the eldest child among the three children of Afiya. Ibthihaal has seen found dead with serious injuries on last Wednesday.
