An individual, suspected of robbing a mobile phone has been arrested with five packets containing substance believed to be drugs.
A 21 year old man has been arrested over that case.
Police said that they received information of robbing a mobile phone after threatening by using sharp objects at around 8:55 p.m. Saturday and the man was arrested from the crime scene by officers on duty at Galolhu Police Station.
While he has been arrested from Abadhahfehi Magu, Police have seen an object that can be used as a sharp weapon, packets containing substance believed to be drugs and phone that was alleged to have robbed from the person, said Police.
According to Police, the person arrested was stopped and inquired by Police 53 times, brought to Police 14 times and has been arrested five times previously.
Police said that while three cases over which he was accused had been sent to Prosecutor General’s Office for prosecution, he has been found guilty and sentenced for one of the cases. Police also noted that he has criminal records of alcohol and drug abuse, assault, possession of dangerous weapons and sharp objects and robbery.
