A group of young people have organised a march in Malé calling for justice for Mohamed Ibthihaal, the three-year-old found dead in Vaavu Rakeedhoo yesterday as a result of suspected abuse.
The march, also to raise awareness on child abuse, will begin at Raalhugandu at 4:15 p.m. tomorrow. Organisers have urged everyone to participate in the event, which will also be joined by NGOs such as Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC).
Ibthihaal was found dead in the living room in his house at around 11:45 p.m. yesterday.
His mother had been accused of abuse and given advice by the island council on multiple occasions. Ibthihaal’s father is unknown, and the woman has two other children from another marriage.
