Body of child found dead with serious injuries in Rakeedhoo brought to Male

Body of the three year old boy found dead with serious injuries in the island of Rakeedhoo in Vaavu atoll has been brought Male’.

A council member of Rakeedhoo has said to Sun Online that some members of Police investigation team and an official of Gender Ministry have departed with the body of the boy to Male’ at around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

He said that a Police investigation team of and two officials of Gender Ministry are working currently in the island on that case.

Police have arrested the boy’s mother in accusation of abusing the child physically.

According to Rakeedhoo council, the boy’s mother who has been arrested has two more children; a two year old boy and a ten month old girl.

The case is under investigation by Serious and Organized Crime Department of Maldives Police Services.
