Azima steps aside as lawyer of Nazim

Former Attorney General Aishath Azima Shakoor has stepped aside as lawyer of former Defense Minister Colonel Retired Mohamed Nazim.

A statement released on Wednesday by the law firm of Azima, Avant-Garde Law Firm, informed that she has stepped aside as lawyer of former Defense Minister Nazim due to personal reasons.

It was also noted in the statement that lawyer of Premier Chambers Maumoon Hameed will handle the case.

Police have raided Nazim’s apartment at around 3:15 a.m. on 17 of this month and police have said that they confiscated weapons from the apartment and the case is being investigated.

Department of Immigration and Emigrations has seized former Defense Minister’s passport on Tuesday evening.
