Man drowns in Vilimal

A man has drowned in the sea off Vilimalé.

The victim has been named as Shaafee Ismail, 26, Husnuheenaage, Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaramfaru.

The police spokesperson told Sun Online that the incident was reported at 12:00 p.m.

The body has been taken to Vilimalé Health Centre.

In a separate incident, a staff of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) drowned while picnicking in Vaavu Foththeyo this morning.
