Man drowns while on picnic in Vaavu Foththeyo

An employee of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has drowned while picnicking in the island of Foththeyo in Vaavu Atoll.

The incident took place at around 9:45 a.m. and the deceased has been named as Ahmed Athif, 41, Ma. Valencia, Malé.

Efforts are ongoing to transport his remains from Vaavu Felidhoo Hospital to Malé on an MTCC speedboat.
