The Maldivian flag will fly at half-mast for three days following the death of Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah.
This was announced on Twitter by President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali, who said that the flag would be flown at half-mast, as declared by the President, from Friday to Sunday.
King Abdullah, aged 91, was suffering from a lung infection. He passed away at a hospital at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, at 1:00 a.m. local time.
King Abdullah came to the throne in 2005. According to a Royal Court statement, his successor has been announced as 79-year-old half-brother, Prince Salman.
