Man gets four years in prison for massage parlour attack

A man has been sentenced to four years in prison for stabbing an individual in a massage parlour.

The Criminal Court said that the suspect, Mohamed Sham’aan Ibrahim Khalid, G. Kanneli, Male’, was found guilty of entering Asparagus Beauty Care building at 8:52 p.m. on 26 June 2012, and attacking an individual in the building using a knife.

The court said that the victim, Mohamed Nafiu, Ever Blue, Seenu Maradhoo, was threatened with a knife by Sham’aan Ibrahim and his group, who demanded the victim to surrender his wallet and phone. According to witness statements, said the court, Nafiu refused, and was stabbed in the leg by Sham’aan.

Sham’aan was sentenced under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
