Police stabbed in Vilimale

A policeman in duty at Vilimale’ has been stabbed at around 3:45 p.m.

The policeman injured in the incident has brought to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for further investigations after treating from Vilimale’ Hospital.

A 36 year old Maldivian was arrested over stabbing the policeman and the knife used to stab the policeman has also been taken to police.

Policeman was stabbed while police was trying to arrest the person over stealing from Multipoint Shop at Vilimale’.

The offender who has been taken to police custody has crime history for theft and a case in which he was suspected to be involved has been forwarded to Prosecutor General’s Office for trial after investigating the case by police.
