Man fined MVR 3,000 for obstructing police officers

A man has been fined MVR 3,000 for obstructing police officers.

Ahsan Hassan Manik, Golden House, Thaa Thimarafushi, was convicted of obstructing police officers as they attempted to take a man into custody at Sinamale’ on 9 April 2013.

The Criminal Court said that Ahsan obstructed the police officers in the execution of duties by getting physically involved in the situation, and saying that he would not allow the man to be searched or taken into custody.

Ahsan has been ordered to pay the fine to the court within one month.
