Muraidhoo Council President resigns

President of Haa Alifu Muraidhoo Council Mohamed Arif Abdul Hakeem has resigned as a member of the council.

Arif told Sun Online that he resigned on 4 January 2014, to pursue further studies.

Arif was elected to the council, after voting was conducted 17 times, as a member of Adhaalath Party. In addition to him, the council consists of two Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) members, and one Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) member.
